Every ten years the U.S. Census Bureau counts residents across the country. A correct count is critical for Broward County as Census numbers are used to determine federal representation and funding of programs such as supplemental nutrition assistance (SNAP), Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, Children’s Health Insurance, and Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP).   The National Urban League Young Professionals is shining a spotlight on the 2020 Census with its National Day of Empowerment initiative.
