I AM EMPOWERED Speaker – Phillip Wells

Phillip Wells

My name is Phillip Wells and I’m from Columbia, S.C. I recently moved down to Miami a little over a year ago to start my career as a school counselor in Broward County. I have a passion for counseling and but even more so simply helping others, especially minority males, which has led me to this point in my life. Lover of all things sports related, I spend my free time going to Heat games and watching my alma mater, Clemson University, play football on Saturdays. My future career goal is to open my own private counseling practice while continuing to break the stigma behind mental health. I feel that our mental health is just as important as our physical health and that seeing a therapist should be just as common as seeing our primary physician.

Session: Navigating Success Using Emotional Intelligence

What if I told you, you did not need a high IQ to be successful in the workplace or in your personal life? But rather, a high EQ (emotional quotient)? Would you believe me? Although your IQ is important, your EQ is just as important and, in some cases, could be a better predictor of success. Leaders need to excel in leading others, implementing ideas, and introducing change in order to meet the challenges of the competitive marketplace. Join this session to be EMPOWERED.
