What’s Your Emotional Intelligence?

This engaging workshop outlines the concept of Emotional Intelligence, explains why it is important for personal and professional development, and describes how to apply the ideas to assess and improve your own confidence and performance by developing your EI.

In an ever-more complex and demanding world, technical expertise – knowing how to do your job – is not enough. We are all experiencing higher demand, more stress, and more fluid working relationships. Now we can all do with being more proactive, engaging with others, and learning how to manage our own energy levels, our relationships, and other people.

The skills of Emotional Intelligence show you how to do these things and how to develop the insight and confidence to handle your own and others’ expectations and emotions effectively.

State of Young Black Broward

The State of Young Black Broward is intended to be a forum style event that targets young professionals (ages 21-40) of Broward County, particularly young professionals of color. The goal of this forum is to educate attendees on the current issues that affect the Black community in Broward County as it relates to Criminal Justice, Health, Education, Housing and Jobs and Economics and walk away with tangible solutions to the problems. These topics will be juxtaposed with the findings from the National Urban League State of Black America Report as well as the Broward Black Elected Officials Report. Selected panelists are all experts in their field of study and will be asked questions by the host and audience members.

Refreshments will be available.

Join Week 2020

Join week is a great chance to meet some other young professionals and learn some more about
membership and getting involved in the Urban League movement. This will be a great week of advocacy,
service, political engagement and networking with fellow YPs. This year’s theme is “One Moment, One Movement”. Join Week 2020 will pay homage to historically black colleges and universities with intentional programming. The world of YPs and the issues facing minorities has always been a different world from the mainstream. We tackle these issues with events like the State of Young Black
Broward, professional development workshops and community service.
